Introducing Threaded Comments

February 19, 2009

Even while I continue moving the website over to a new server, I’m still introducing new comments here.  Hoorah!

The newest: threaded comments.

Hopefully this will make the discussions here cleaner and better focused.

Now shoo.  Put on your Hoody and talk Patriots!

PatriotsBlog.net 2.0 Beta Released

November 7, 2008

After many hours of work, I am finally prepared to release the BETA of PatriotsBlog.net Version 2.0.  Lets be clear, I’m no professional web designer, but a lot of hard work has gone into making this website.  Some of the new features will include:

  • Home page w/ video and featured articles
  • Fully integrated forum
  • Online community – with intricate member profiles
  • Chat Room

While I understand FreeWebs seems low budget, I plan on upgrading to the premium package when the site is ready to go live.  For now, visit the site, sign up for the community forums, get a good feel, and GIVE ME FEEDBACK!

You can access the BETA here

Depth Chart Updated

September 12, 2008

I’ve gotten a lot of complaints over the last few months that the depth chart needed updating, because it really did.  So, I’ve finally gotten around to updating it, doing my best to get it as accurately as possible.

You can check it out HERE.

Check Out Player Profiles!

August 17, 2008

If you take a look at the top navigation bar, you’ll see a page called player profiles.

My plan is to write up a scouting report on every player on the Patriots’ roster, starting with quarterback Tom Brady.  These take a lot of work, and it will be a few months before all the players are finished, but it’s definitely something that’s going to be worthwhile in the end.

Patriotsblog.net Needs More Writers!

March 31, 2008

This blog has been running for over a year and a half, and I’ve only had two other writers write for this blog, both of whom are no longer contributing.  That being said, if you want to write for the blog, shoot me an email at patriotsblog@aol.com.  All I need is a quick blurb about yourself and any writing experience you have.  As well as a writing sample about the Patriots.  This could range from a short paragraph to a full article.  The best thing is, if you’re accepted, there are no obligations.  You can write as much as you want, or as little as you want, it’s all up to you.  ”Write” now (haha, get it?), we’re looking for:  General Writers|  Someone who can provide daily links  |  Game Recaps (for during the season)  |  Pro and/or college “scouts”

The Comments Have to Stop

March 6, 2008

As many readers may have noticed, there were 74 comments yesterday, that included a lot of vulgar and outlandish terms.  I’m sorry for that, and I will do my best to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

Mojo Rider and Loki182, while I respect your opinions, the language has to stop.  It is childish and immature.  One more comment like that from either of you, and your IP addresses will be permanently blocked.  Loki, I understand your a huge Pats fan, but you have to cool down with the language.

Update: Clearly Mojo Rider didn’t get the message.  He just started posting more vulgar comments under a name (same IP).  He’s blocked, and from now on, I’m deleting all other anti-Patriot arguments, unless it’s legitmate.  If you want to call the Patriots cheaters, fine.  Give your reason, state why you believe it, etc.  However, I will no longer tolerate CHEATERS, 18-1, things along those lines.  I’ve had enough.  Grow up.

Don’t worry, I don’t plan on selling.  But look at that number!

My blog is worth $7,339.02.
How much is your blog worth?

Refreshed look with refreshed season

September 5, 2007

I tried giving the site a new look before the season started.  I like this one more because it maximizes the side bar, making it a lot easier to access the site.  I also think it seems more professional, and clean.  Tell me what you think!

I  also want to encourage people to use the forum.  It takes only about 30 seconds to sign up.  I want to try my best to create a Patriots blogging community, not just a simple blog.

Lastly, I am still interested in more writers for the site.  Andrew and I have been working alone, and when the season starts, things are going to really pick up.  If you want to write general articles, you may.  There is no restriction to what you can write, and no demands on how much you write.  You could write once a month for all I care.  Above all, I could really use someone who would be willing to find daily links about the Patriots.  I’ve tried doing it, but I never seem to finish while I am writing other articles.  If you are interested in writing for Patriotsblog.net, email me at thebusnamedgak@aol.com .  I would like to see a brief tryout article, then I can sign you up within five minutes.  I may also be able to get you an email account like yourname@patriotsblog.net, but I’m still working to try and set that up.

All Quiet on the New England Front

June 13, 2007

This is certainly football’s most boring time of the year.  For the next month and a half, there is going to be nothing to report.  Free agency, the draft, and the minicamp season are all over.  Next up, is training camp.  Until then, the Patriots might make a move for a veteran or two, but thats about it.  Here’s my June/July outlook:

1. Randy Moss will choose his jersey number

Definately the most anticipated breaking story of the summer.  Will Randy Moss choose his jersey number?  We will certainly all wait in extreme anxiety and we’ll bring you the scoop as soon as it happens :)

2. What to do with the vets?

Two players are expected to sign with the Patriots, but have yet to do so.  Vinny Testaverde, quarterback, participated in all of the Patriots minicamps, but has yet to sign with the team.  Bill Belichick said that Troy Brown would be part of the team next year, but we have yet to see him resigned.  Maybe the Patriots will resign these two guys this summer.

3. Asante Samuel’s Contract Situation

This is an obvious problem.  Asante has threatened to hold until week 10, and he seems very determined to do so.  There may be a remote chance that the Patriots get something done with Asante early this summer, however, I doubt it.

4. Look at Some More Free Agents

The Patriots have been rumored to be speaking with runningback Chris Brown and his agent, but reportedly, Brown is playing a wait and see game.  I think he would be a nice compliment to Maroney if the Pats signed him.  There is also Daunte Culpepper.  If the Dolphins release him, the Patriots have been rumored to be in a line of suitors for his services.
